Well, continuing with my reviews of my time in Florida I thought I would right about the next theme park I visited, “The Island of Adventures” part of the Universal Studios branch, located in Orlando Florida. Having never even heard about this park, and already purchasing a multi-pass I figured I might as well check this place out. I can honestly say I would compare this place to being just as goods as Universal Studios. It was packed with fun, excitement, brilliant rides, fantastic scenery and just a brilliant buzzing atmosphere.
Where is the Park and How to get there?
The island of adventures is located in Orlando Florida, and most the tax and bus operators will be able to take you there. The park is located on Universal Boulevard, which is about 15 minutes drive away from the main international airport. If your located near the East of Florida make sure you take the I4 Eastbound road and follow the directions towards Kissimmee, the directions are really easy and straight forward. If you’re traveling from the West likewise take the West I4 Highway and follow the directions towards Downtown Orlando. Once you’re Close to the island of adventures you will see the huge Universal studios sign and you can’t go wrong from there onwards.
Most the local buses and tour operators will provide specialist buses that are located around Orlando and go to all the major theme parks, do a bit of research and find the correct bus.
We were lucky to arrange a rental car that we hired for the duration of our stay. Parking is available at the island of adventures but they usually charge you $11 for the whole day, this included valet parking, so if you have a car and a big family it’s defiantly a good idea taking the rental car.
Park History:
The Island of Adventures was first opened by Universal in May 1999. It had the same premise of Epcot land, in the sense that there were different island with different themes, all having there own characteristics and all providing different levels of fun for the park guests. The Park consists of five inland islands, which guests will visit one by one, each one offering different themed rides. On average the park attracts 4.8 million guests each year and is rated as one of the best theme parks in Orlando, if not the World.
Prices:
Well like most theme parks, guests have the option of buying a single park ticket of a pass that allows you to access theme parks all over Florida. I purchased the Orlando Flex Ticket Plus, which
