The Hotel that may have been…
A popular practice when planning to vacation in Disney World/Universal Studios, Florida, is to find an extraordinarily cheap hotel within driving distance of the parks, renting a car from the airport with the intent of spending all day at the parks , and little to no time at the hotel only serving as a room to crash in from hauling the kids all day from ride to ride. This is literally the only purpose this hotel can fulfill. Before even arriving at the Hotel our cab driver immediately warned us of the danger in location of our hotel. He first started by telling us our hotel was situated directly across the overpass of the highway, which is where I felt his sentence was to conclude…far from it, he continued to say The hotel was situated directly across the overpass of the highway in which the state prison was situated next to! Secondly the subdivisions (North and East of) in which the hotel itself was just outside of (meaning across a small street from) was extremely seedy and riddled with drug dealers and gang bangers. So aside from the terrible area in which it was in the middle of, the hotel itself seemed promising. Trying to be rational and simply ruling out late night walks and the noise from the highway. We proceeded with an open mind. The inside was gorgeous and nicely furnished. Check in was a breeze and things looked good. Our room was relatively clean however the bedding/sheets were terrible and the room had signs of wear n tear. We had the day to spend there as we were waiting for a flight to the Bahamas. This is where the disappointment continued. Our first move was to eat. The Buffet would open in 10 minutes so we waited for it with not much expectation. The Buffet was overpriced at 10.99 that did not include a drink of any sort. The food was to say the least, sub par, and the dessert was untouchable and twenty something dollars later we decided to leave and get our spirits up. We took a walk around the hotels two floors. To our amusement their was a video arcade unfortunately all the games were on a pay basis but only a few of them even worked. But I was rather old for games so we walked further to find a workout room. Great so I can at least listen to the IPOD and work out. Wrong. All of the 6 machines were broke except the 1980’s treadmill, so off to the pool. It would of been great, the pool large and unattended with a small kids pool to the right and a jacuzzi to the left which had an
